Records

The Records tab is used to associate records to matters. The Records tab is accessed by clicking on the tab in the binder section of the following notebooks: Matters, Litigation, Contracts, Matter Financials, Investigations. The Records tab displays in tabular view as described below.

Records Tab Field Definitions

Description

Required (Y/N)

Record Number

The number assigned to the record. This field is read-only.

Control #

The control number for this record.

Type

The type of record. When adding or updating records, select a value from a dropdown list.

Date

The date the record was entered. Press the SPACEBAR to automatically enter the current date or click in the field to open a calendar to select an alternative date.

Description

A description of the record. To enter or view the contents of this field without scrolling, click to display the Memo dialog box.

Matter Close Date

The date the matter was closed. Press the SPACEBAR to automatically enter the current date or click in the field to open a calendar to select an alternative date.

Retention End Date

The date the record can be destroyed. Press the SPACEBAR to automatically enter the current date or click in the field to open a calendar to select an alternative date.

Retention Type

The type of retention for the record. When adding or updating records, select a value from a dropdown list.

Location

The physical location where the record is stored. When adding or updating records, select a value from a dropdown list.

Note

A note or comment about the forum. To enter or view the contents of the note without scrolling, click to display the Memo dialog box.
