The following provides a description of the fields contained in the main (header) section of the Entities notebook. To add a record, see Adding an Entity Record.

Type |
A description of the type of entity. This field is a dropdown field, and often, the choice of entity type determines if the entity will be a person or a company. |

Name |
The entity's full name. This field may be entered directly for companies or if the entity is a person, formatted by specific entity type. |
|
Company |
The company associated with the entity. This field is a dropdown containing company entities. |
|
Office |
The location of the entity's office. Offices are linked to companies through a particular company entity's Office tab. This dropdown allows you to choose an office for a particular company entered in the Company column. |

Tax ID |
The company's Tax ID. If the company is in a foreign country, this would be the company's foreign ID. |
|
Code |
The entity's ID code, if applicable. Note that the value in this field is a code associated with the entity type. |

Class |
The entity's classification (attorney, clerk, etc.). This field is a dropdown. |
|
Cost Rate |
The hourly rate for the entity for invoicing and billing purposes. Note that this field only displays when personnel has been selected in the Type field. |

Prefix |
A prefix associated with the name of the entity (e.g., Ms., Dr., Mr., etc.) This column is only displayed if the entity is a person, not a company. This field is a dropdown. |

First Name |
The entity's first name if the entity is a person. This field is only displayed if the entity is a person, not a company. |
|
Middle Name |
The entity's middle name or initial if the entity is a person. This field is only displayed if the entity is a person, not a company. |
|
Last Name |
The entity's last name if the entity is a person. This field is only displayed if the entity is a person, not a company. |
|
Suffix |
The entity's suffix or salutation (e.g., Dr., Ms., Mr., etc.). This field is only displayed if the entity is a person, not a company. This field is a dropdown. |

Title |
The entity's title (e.g., Clerk, Associate, etc.) This field is only displayed if the entity is a person, not a company. |
|
P/C |
A radio button indicating if the entity is a person or company. |
|
Status |
A radio button setting the entity's status as active or inactive. |
